| We open ourselves to the personal and communal conversions necessary to embrace our Gospel responsibility to live simply, making the concerns of the poor our own, and reverencing all creation. (Call of the 2002 SSND General Chapter) |
ESTABLISHING A JUST SOCIETY
The focus of all SSND ministries is the establishment of a just society.
Part of this entails educating ourselves and others so that we can recognize and encourage the initiatives and values that enhance the reign of God, and confront and transform the obstacles to human dignity, development and unity.
Although all SSNDs engage in this work, we have assigned one of our Sisters in the Canadian Province to work on it full time, and a committee to share in the work part time. These people share their research and experiences, and invite us to action.
Here you will find information about some of the topics that currently engage SSNDs at the international, national and local levels. More information can be found on our international and North American websites as well.
We invite you to join us in aswering the call to embrace gospel values and live the social teachings of the church.
