VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We have several volunteer opportunities at our Motherhouse.

Volunteers assist our recreation staff as recreation aides, helping with such activities as crafts, quizzes, sing-a-longs and organizing social activities.

Volunteers also interact one-to-one with sisters by reading to them, playing cards, going for walks and talking with them.

People share their talents with the Sisters. We have volunteers who play musical instruments, dance, bake or write poetry.

Volunteer drivers provide transportation to Sisters going on social or recreational outings.

Mothers with newborns volunteer. They visit with Sisters sharing the delight of new life.

Volunteer times are flexible and adjustable to suit the availability of the volunteer.

There is a three-step application process which involves an interview, reference check and police screening.

If you are interested in volunteering at the SSND Motherhouse, or would like more information, please contact Julie Farnand, Manager of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteer Resources.
