SSNDs celebrate 80, 75, 70, 60, 50 and 25 years in religious life
WATERDOWN, Ont. – On Saturday, August 22, 2008, twenty-two School Sisters of Notre Dame celebrated their jubilee anniversaries of religious profession at the Motherhouse in Waterdown, Ontario. Present were Sisters, SSND Associates and friends, some from as far away as Sudan, Peru, England, Italy, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
Sister Imelda Pautler, the oldest of the jubilarians at 99, celebrated 80 years of religious life. Five sisters celebrated 75 years of religious life: Sisters Mary Alix Le Clerc Begin, Ruth Chamberlain, Elise Diemert, Mary Michael Psutka, and Mary Florian Zettler. Five celebrated their 70th anniversary: Sisters Mary Albert Bartsch, Mary Agnes Begin, Katharina Boser, Mary Alma Feist, and Mary Andre Hogan.
Seven celebrated their 60th jubilee: Sisters Leona Dentinger, Mary Louisita Dietrich, Mary Alfreda Kimpel, Gemma Golino, Rose Marie Miehm, Doreen Norman, and Marcella Reitzel. Sisters Janet Disbrowe, Rose Mary Sander, and Harriet Schnurr celebrated 50 years of religious life and Sister Margaret McPhee, 25.
The day-long celebration began with Eucharist, continued with a formal dinner, an afternoon of socializing and a barbecue supper.
